SAY NO TO TORTURE
AND NO TO THE WARS
WHEN "WANTED FOR WAR CRIMES"
GEORGE W. BUSH COMES TO PHOENIX!
Wednesday, March 16, 2011, 5 P.M.
(Former President Bush speaks at 7:00 p.m.)
For nearby parking garage locations see http://www.phoenix.gov/conventioncenter/parking.html
President George W. Bush will be the Guest Speaker for the 50th Anniversary Celebration of Arizona Christian University (formerly called Southwestern College) on March 16th. The Phoenix End the War Coalition intends to demonstrate that those who profit from war and have no regard for the lives of others are not welcome here, and will be met with a powerful and non-violent opposition. In the press release of the organization, it says that the invitation to Bush to speak was made because "Bush brought Christian values to the White House.' We don't think torture is a Christian value! President Bush recently canceled a trip to Switzerland when faced with the threat of arrest for war crimes committed when president.
Bring your owns signs, appropriate for the occasion, such as:
"Bush is not above the law." Torture is a Crime!"
"Who would Jesus torture?"
"Thou shall not kill means not starting wars."
" Jobs at Home. Not Wars Abroad!"
"Bush Ordered Torture!"
and read the names of Arizonans, Iraqis and Afghans killed in wars.
Committed Volunteers Needed! We are looking for 15 volunteers to wear an orange jumpsuit and carry the "Bush Ordered Torture" banner at our vigil location near the Phoenix Convention Center between 5 p.m and 9.p.m Wednesday, March 16. If you are interested come to the Phoenix convention center ready to place it over your clothes and, if possible, please RSVP ASAP by email to endthewarcoalition@cox.net or by calling (480) 894-2024.

Eight years in Iraq and almost a decade in Afghanistan. How much longer? How many more people killed? How many more cuts here to finance destruction there? How many more trillions? The U.S. spends almost as much on its military as the entire rest of the world combined. Who wins? Those who benefit, the few who profit, will not stop it. Only we can stop it!
