I began this blog in May 2009 following the death of Marcia Powell at Perryville State Prison in Goodyear, Arizona. It is not intended to prescribe the path that leads to freedom from the prison industrial complex.

Rather, these are just my observations in arguably the most racist, fascist, militaristic state in the nation at a critical time in history for a number of intersecting liberation movements. From Indigenous resistance to genocidal practices, to the fight over laws like SB1070 and the ban on Ethnic Studies, Arizona is at the center of many battles for human rights, and thus the struggle for prison abolition as well - for none are free until all are. I retired the blog in APRIL 2013.

Tucson's Read Between the Bars' Book-Packing Party!

Sunday, July 11, 2010

5:00pm - 10:00pm

1750 E. Saint John the Baptist

Tucson, AZ, 85713

Hi everyone, please stop by on Sunday, July 11th to help us package up some books and then box up some books to help us prep for moving! We GREATLY APPRECIATE the help! The more helping hands the easier and quicker we can pack/box/organize all the goods.

Snacks and refreshments and friends await you!

Please don't miss this final opportunity for a book-packing party in our beloved space on Saint John the Baptist! This is your opportunity to bid farewell to Brooke Willock and Mike Hume :). Brooke and Mike are moving the last weekend of July, so please stop by and wish them well and help them out in their favorite cause.

If you are unable to make it, please consider donating to our PayPal account which can be found on our website to help us pay for postage. And find us on Facebook!

RBTB accepts donations of packaging materials and tape, paperback books in good condition and office supplies. We are also looking for a bigger space to house more books.
